"To foster and promote the governmental, social, educational and environmental infrastructure that will make Fairfax County a world-class 21st century business center and the global capital of the knowledge industry."
The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) promotes Fairfax County, Virginia, as a world-class center of commerce and trade and the technology hub of the east coast. The FCEDA provides a wide array of information and free confidential services designed to help American and international businesses locate or expand commercial operations in Fairfax County.
Every year the FCEDA assists hundreds of companies with expansion or relocation needs. View the list of this year's business announcements.
The work of the FCEDA strengthens the business community by increasing the real estate tax base of Fairfax County. Businesses contributed to the real estate tax base which helps to pay for the high-quality public services — schools and social services, for example — that residents want. The number of Fairfax County residents is more than 1 million, and the population is increasingly diverse. The FCEDA must continue to attract new businesses and workers to generate the business taxes that help pay for the services that residents will want and need.
